Answers about report quality, privacy, pricing and Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) alignment.
South African compliance and standards
Our AI models are specifically trained on official Department of Basic Education reporting guidelines, SA-SAMS requirements, and the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS). We regularly update our training data to reflect changes in curriculum and reporting standards. However, all generated comments should be reviewed by you as the qualified educator to ensure they accurately reflect your learners' individual performance and meet your school's specific requirements.
Yes! We support Grades R-12, including senior secondary subjects. Our platform covers all curriculum areas and elective subjects commonly taught in South African schools, and includes First Additional Language and LoLT support as well as support for learners with additional learning needs.
Absolutely. Our AI understands the the CAPS 7-point national achievement scale (Level 1 Not Achieved, 0-29% through to Level 7 Outstanding Achievement, 80-100%) used in South African schools and generates comments appropriate to each achievement level. For Grade R, we focus on effort and progress without grades. For secondary years, we align comments with syllabus outcomes and curriculum standards. The platform automatically adjusts the tone and content based on the achievement level you specify.
Yes. We have built-in support for learners with diverse learning needs. Support for learners whose Language of Learning and Teaching (LoLT) is not their home language, aligned with CAPS Home Language and First Additional Language requirements. Where a learner has a Individual Support Plan (ISP), we focus on personalised goals and the adjustments already in place, and we deliberately keep diagnoses and support classifications out of the comment itself.
How it works
No, think of us like a sophisticated spell-checker for professional feedback. You provide the student context, achievement level, and teaching observations. We help with the wording. You review, edit, and approve every single comment before it goes anywhere. The professional judgment is yours; we just save you the time of finding the right words at 9pm on a Sunday. Many schools already use comment banks and templates, and this is simply a smarter, more personalised version of that same approach.
Teachers using the platform consistently report cutting their report writing time in half. A typical teacher might spend 30+ hours writing comments for 90-120 students. With our platform, that time reduces to review and personalisation. The exact time saved depends on class size, subjects taught, and your editing preferences.
You provide basic information about each learner: a student code or nickname (never a real name), year level, subject, achievement level, and optional teacher notes about specific achievements or areas for development. Our AI then generates a personalised comment that follows South African reporting best practices: starting with positive achievements, describing specific skills and knowledge, and providing constructive guidance for improvement. You can then edit and refine the comment before finalizing it.
Absolutely! We strongly encourage editing and personalization. The AI provides a professional, compliant foundation, but you know your students best. You can edit any part of the comment, regenerate with different parameters, or use the comment as inspiration while writing your own. Think of it as a highly intelligent starting point that respects your professional judgment.
We do not store real student identities. Use codes or nicknames (e.g. A17, Blue-3, Ella-Maths) — you know who that is; we do not. We store only teacher-created, de-identified workspace data. You can export drafts and copy-paste into your school's official system. Any continuity is managed by you; we never touch real student records.
Technical requirements and support
Our platform works on all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and devices. We have a responsive design that works on desktops, tablets, and smartphones. There's no software to install - everything runs in your web browser.
Yes. We do not store any personal student information — only teacher-created, de-identified workspace data. Our platform is designed for de-identified data only; do not enter real student names or personal details. We comply with applicable privacy legislation in your jurisdiction and Department of Basic Education requirements. Workspace data is encrypted at rest. We never use your workspace data to train AI in a way that identifies real children, and we never share it with third parties.
We offer email support Monday-Friday during business hours.
Pricing and plans
We offer flexible token packages based on your reporting workload. Create an account, choose a token pack, and start generating. Tokens never expire, so you only pay when it's report time.
Yes. New accounts choose a token package before using the dashboard and generation tools. There is no subscription, and your tokens stay available until you use them.
No, tokens never expire. Unlike subscriptions that charge you monthly, you only buy tokens when you need them. If you don't use all your tokens this reporting period, they'll be there next time. No recurring charges, no wasted money.
